How Many Failures Does It Take?

This has been around the block a few times, yet it is still pertinent.  Failures happen. That is a fact.

And yet, perseverance must be exercised for any of our worthwhile goals and improvement strategies.  I hope this refresher helps inspire some reader today.

Abraham Lincoln’s Failures

1832 Defeated for state legislature

1833  Failed in business

1835  Sweetheart died

1836  Had a nervous breakdown

1838 Defeated for Speaker

1843  Defeated for nomination for Congress

1848  Lost re-nomination

1849  Rejected for land officer

1854  Defeated for US Senator

1856  Defeated for nomination for VP

1858  Again defeated for US Senator

1860  Elected President

He suffered eleven defeats ~ ELEVEN ~ before making it as one of our great presidents.

Gotta love that.

~I can’t sing like Celine.  She’s pretty, and famous, and has life easy.  I’m never going to make it.

Oh my, I could make up stories for every one of those scenarios above.  You could too.  Do you see the power of story-telling and how it affects up?

Did you know you can change your story?  You can rewrite it, edit it, make it into any story you want, because you are the storyteller.
