Feed Yourself Well

Feed Yourself Well

Oh my, how we should value our food and food sources.  THAT is how we grow and get bigger, and better.

I’m learning the value of more protein, less sodium, less suger, and a balanced amount of roughage in my diet.  When I monitor those items, I am feeding myself very well indeed.

And I care about what I put into my mind as well.  My body needs maintenance daily, but my mind … that is my secret power and I intend to feed it very well indeed.

That is why I am an avid reader and a listener to podcasts.  And I give attention to rest periods, relaxing music and more.

Care and feeding of the soul is a crucial element in life.

Growing, achieving individuals know this, no matter what field they pursue.

The Thief in Your Mind

The Thief in Your Mind

The thief on the street or lurking in the alley doesn’t do nearly as much damage as the thief in your mind.  He’s the thief that constantly chatters, makes snide remarks and tells you all the things you can’t do.

This thief of the mind is your greatest enemy.  He keeps you from trying, or believing, or thinking straight, or accepting reality.  This thief is the worst of thieves.  He is a liar and a cheat.

So, what do we do?

We arrest this thieve of thieves.  We actually embrace a few concepts that others have talked about for years … stuff like

Mental attitude
Positive thoughts
Can-do thoughts
Approve of yourself
Like yourself
Believe in yourself
Judge self by your own standard of measure, not what others say is the standard.

And when you are successful in this pursuit, well, the world will notice the change.

You will then be in full possession of your own mind and your own destiny.

This stuff works.

Rejection Is a Mighty Force

Rejection is a Mighty Force

Yes!  You may fail.
Your building may fall down.
You may blow it on that audition.
You may forget your place in the music.
You may drop a drum stick or your baton.  (I’ve done both.)
You may not get that coveted job.

Every one of these scenarios are horrible forms of failure and rejection.  And yet, life goes on.  We survive them.

And the smart ones among us learn after a failure.  We learn after getting rejected.  And we go back to the practice room, the drawing board or wherever we need to go to, and start all over if we must, and we try again.

Rejection is not the end.  It’s a re-tooling opportunity.

That is all.

Cause a new day is acomin’.  And you’ve got to get ready for them.
