To See a New Way

To See a New Way

Now here’s a growth moment.  Seeing things in a new way.

If you’ve heard the saying – “We’ve always done it this way” then perhaps, it is time for a new way.  Perhaps the old tried and true is worn out.

This is true in a musician’s practice routine.
This is true in a golfer’s swing.
This is true in a writer.
This is true in designing bridges.

Perhaps, a new perspective is needed, a different look at the how and why.

Fresh insights are what is called for.  Don’t abandon the physics of the thing.  Just reconsider the different ways you can use those same physics and create new and better, improved and more sustainable.

Growth Is Contagious

Growth Is Contagious

This space is all about inspiring a person to grow and improve.  In that spirit, I have one simple thought to share today … you can catch growth.
You can be inspired to grow.

Here’s the secret to that idea.

Hang around people from whom you can catch a spark of growth and improvement.  Got a mentor?  That’s a good starting place.

So is YouTube and watching someone do what you are wanting to do.  You can catch a good point or two if you look for it.

Every Day We're Making Room for Your Talent

Every Day, We’re Making Room
for Your Talent

Did you hear the news?  John Kennedy is dead. So is Mother Theresa, Tim Conway, Robin Williams, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Dave Brubeck, and a whole lot more of once-greats.

That just means that now, more than ever, there is room for your talent.  Openings become available with every death and departure from this earth.

Of course, you can look at your field through these eyes, or you could, I suppose, look at it and say, “I’ll never make it.”

I happen to believe there is always room for you and your skill if you’re willing to keep at it, improve, study, practice, take classes and lessons, seek out mentors better than yourself.

The big questions is – will you?  Will you keep working on your craft?  Will you set lofty goals and dreams so that when opportunity knocks you’ll be ready to step through the door?

I hope so.
