Consider What Hasn't Happened Yet

Consider What Hasn’t Happened Yet

I hope you never peak.  I hope you never reach your personal best and then decide to camp out there.

Consider what hasn’t happened yet.  What are all of the possibilities that still lie within you?

The way I feel tonight, I have enough blog idea and other writing ideas to last me for the next 100 years.  I can’t wait to see what I will write tomorrow and next week.

Hope this is your attitude too.

Make it so.

Belief

Belief

This is so old, and has been used so often, I almost passed it over today.  However … there are still a few individuals who are just coming into this kind of mindset, so I offer it again.

Never underestimate the power of belief in any undertaking.

I was not a great singer in my early years.  I sang flat, I had little voice control, I screeched out the high notes, I mumbled my words.  And I learned, because somewhere down deep I believed I could learn to sing.

Same with writing, and drumming, and being a businessman, a manager, a salesman and on and on.

I’ll say it again …

Never underestimate the power
of belief in any undertaking.

A New Look at Challenges

A New Look at Challenges

Are you facing a tough challenge?  That’s probably a good thing.  You could look at it as a threat, however, consider this.

Carol Dweck, author of Mindset, gives this idea:

"Rather than thinking, 'Oh, I’m going to reveal my weaknesses', say, ‘wow, here’s a chance to grow.’”

I’ve had to do that a few times in my life.

I remember three years ago when I was faced with learning a computer program that wasn’t working for me.  I finally reached out to my partner in the next cubicle and asked for 2 hours for him to teach me this “dumb system”.

He did, I took notes, and learned.

I grew!

Whether you are facing a new piece of music that is beyond your present capabilities, you are stumped on a new building design, or you are trying to make a soufflĂ© and it keeps crashing, convince yourself YOU CAN, and then read more, ask more questions, watch a YouTube video or go to class.

New challenges are nothing more than an opportunity for growth.
