Change May Be Needed

Change Is Needed

Behold the caterpillar.

It has a destiny – another life to live.  And its
nature is to pursue that other life.  Only the caterpillar knows when the time is right.  Change it must, and change it will.

And then …

Behold the butterfly.

I am a drummer and I am left-handed.  I realized too late that I could have tried to play the drum set to cater to my left-handedness a long time ago, but never gave it a thought.  It would have required changing the norm.  The drummers I grew up with set their drums up to go in a clock-wise direction, and that is what I did too.

Paul McCartney plays the bass guitar on his left side, not the right, as most bass players.  How about that?  He CHANGED.

Are you willing to change, if it would produce a better product, better building, better company or a better you?

Would you change your reading habits if you could gain a new understanding?

Would you change your practice habits if it would move you further and faster toward whatever your practice is leading you to?

Change is not the enemy.

Sometimes, change is our friend.

Your Life ... Your Story

Your Life … Your Story

For so many years I allowed others to make
edits in my life.  I had no backbone, no confidence in myself and what I wanted and thought.

A wise counselor pointed me to a book one fine day – Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend.  That was a monumental source for me.  On that day, I began taking charge of my life story.

Kind of a critical life moment.

Mistakes Happen ... Then What?

Mistakes Happen … Then What?

News Flash!

Musicians make mistakes.
Builders of buildings make mistakes.
Parents makes mistakes.
Spouses make mistakes.

Oh my.  The world is doomed.  EVERYBODY makes mistakes.

Yes, Otis.  We all make mistakes.

Ah, but what do we do after a mistake?

Why, we get back up, we dust ourselves off, and we try again.

We go slower if we must.
We study more.
We redesign.
We talk about the flaws.
We seek help.

And we try again.
