Sometimes
We Play Left-Handed
Paul
McCartney of the Beatles fame was a left-
handed bass player when the rest of
the world played the electric bass as a right-handed player. He did opposite from the rest of the
world. And his career turned out pretty
good.
Music
teachers are trained to teach us proper technique, proper stance. However, sometimes a student needs to adapt,
adjust to their own proclivities.
I
should have tried, at least a few times, setting my drums up to accommodate my
left-handedness. It was unheard of in
those days, so I didn’t.
See
my point. It matters not whether you are
a bass player, a carpenter, a painter, a writer, a builder of homes. You adapt your teaching to what works best
for you.
Learn
the basics, by all means, and then adapt.
Adapt
Adapt
Adapt
